Is there anyone in the Stafford area who knows about Lathe wiring. My TOS SN50C's motor wont start, I haven't used it for about 6 months so I am assuming some moisture has crept in. All three motors are working fine when activated directly. which leads me to believe is a safety interlock causing...
Working on the theory that you cant take it with you I dug deep and went for the ESAB A60. It turned up this afternoon and the only word that sums it up is WOW! The clarity is unbelievable, so much so I forgot what I was doing and made a right mess of the weld. I will have a proper play with it...
My ESAB Aristo Tech has decided to put its legs in the air. It probably just needs a new set of batteries but as usual it always happens when you least need it. This has brought home the fact that after 8 years of service I should have been looking for its replacement a while ago. The new R Tech...
Thanks chaps, Dewalt impact gun to the rescue - it certainly packs a wallop. As usual there is a lot more damage than initially envisaged, at least I wont be getting bored for a few days.
I am refurbing a topper that I acquired. What should be a fairly simple welding repair is being made much harder because some bright spark has used some form of roll pin instead of cotter pins on the castle nuts that hold the blade carriers on.
So far I have snapped 2 drills and one punch. I...
Looks like I need a new pair of glasses, it helps if I test from pin 30 not 17. Bottom line is this new switch is fobar with pins 15/54 and pin 30 showing continuity even when switch is off.
I need to replace the ignition switch on my compressor and if possible add a remote switch so I can start it from the blast room. I thought this one would be a direct replacement for the one that on there but no suck luck.
I need to test which pins do what - I thought a simple check with a...
Job turned up and there was no problem. It was a 33 tooth wild star pulley that needed reducing in width to fit a Yamaha XV1700 warrior which machined very nicely. Thanks for all you input.
Thanks chaps, that makes me feel better, I was beginning to worry that I was losing it as I have never heard of C34 :dontknow: He is bringing the part over next week, I should know more then. Apparently he needs 2mm off each side.
I have been asked to reduce the thickness of a gear, chap tells me its C34. Does any know if C34 ( google not very helpful) is machinable. Or is it known by another name?
That's the easy bit Peter, either Inkscape or Corel make it simple. I went through the online videos many time before I got to grips with Sheetcam - still need them after 3 years - I blame it on age....
Well after fairly extensive testing with this new torch I am glad to say that normal working has been resumed. I have just cut a fair amount of 10 and 6mm HR without issue. As I had put a new head onto the Trafimet torch I am at a loss to understand why this should be so - I can only put it...
I seem to be killing off my Angle Grinders just lately, I have finally managed to kill off both of my 30 year old Black and Deckers.
Any recommendations for 115mm ones ? Is it best to buy cheap stuff from Screwfix with a two year warranty of Makita for twice the price.
This R-tech is only 50amp vs the Oxfords 70amp so that may have some bearing on consumable life. As I said I'll let you know after a bit of testing - cause at the moment I am not sure I want to change from this R-Tech cutter - I cant fault the thing - it just works....
Cant find a problem with the machine. It looking very much like its the torch so Rob at Xtreme has put a new torch on it. I'll let you know next week when I have had a chance to test it.
After using this R-Tech for the past few weeks the torch's are much better than the Trafimet supplied with...
