Once you have the rolling chassis together it will give you a huge boost - trust me! I wish my daughters had your skills - they're more worried about breaking their nails.
You need what is called a 'mini rester' available from toolstation - page 315 of latest catalogue, goes in pipework to toilet, washing machine etc. and eliminates water hammer. I have used them and they are great! Essential it does what gordon is describing above
Sometimes a far better alternative is to make what is referred to as a sump extension - essentially a spacer plate between the engine & sump with a gasket either side. Give a greater capacity without the danger of grounding extensions sticking out of/off the sump.
Once you have checked the pinion bearing and if eliminated I would take it to a specialist for a check over and balance. Usually is costs very little and saves hours of messing about.
Lead–acid batteries lose the ability to accept a charge when sulfation occurs. This is the crystallization of lead sulfate. The lead battery's plates react with sulfuric acid in the electrolyte to form lead sulfate.
This lead sulfate first forms in a finely divided, amorphous state, and...
i'd take the plug to a piping firm and see if they have a suitable reducer off the shelf - not expensive and will save you a load of work

Bandsaw Blade Wedling Instructions:Grind the snapped ends with the hand-held grinder as necessary so the broken ends of the blade fit together. If the blade snapped evenly, this may not be necessary, but if any shards were lost, grind down the edges. Secure the saw blade in the vise, with the...
I have bent both thin wall copper tube & stainless (6mm 10mm 12 mm etc) with RIGID benders (they do imperial sets too) - they would certaily do the pipe you show.
PS: If you need to flare the tube you can make a simple steel madrel on a lathe (or a buddy can) that just hammers into the...
Made from zinc alloy - can be welded but prone to sufferering HAZ liquation cracking. It is usual to use filler metals containing zinc and magnesium.
Low success rate.

Looks great. I have done plenty of this type of chassis construction. It's time consuming but once the chassis is complete and you stand back and admire your work the feeling is amazing! I would certainly recommend that you get it professionally etch primered and powder coated when complete...
Many years a go I used to have a flypress almost identical to yours. It had a brass plate held to the casting with 4 hammer rivets. Quite often these plates get lost - you may find some markings on the the base (underside) if lucky.
I cannot remember the make of mine, it was great when I had a...
Making the propshaft is easy - balancing it is where the skill is.
I've made them for cars I have built in the past and then had them professionally balanced - I must say that nowadays it is just as cost effective to get a specialist to do the lot for you. You will know if it is not balance...
Done this many times, hot tank in caustic to remove the grease/oil residue and then blast clean. Wall thickness of tubes can be checked with ultrasound if needed. Usual internal corrosion is caused by oil emulsion (water ingress, condensation etc.) . There are various oil resistant coatings that...
