No worries, I'm not turning down any suggestions, but the euro plug is secure and the connections are all good. And moving around the mains side cable had no effect what so ever.
Cheers for the feedback guys, I will get into it but probably not till the weekend. I don't think its a damp issue it lives in a nice dry garage but I wont rule anything out yet.
Yea I will open it up and try to investigate the problem, like I just wanted to get some advice first ideally in case there was any likely cause to look out for first. Its a flexible cable to a 16a socket. I should have said though I don't think its an issue on the mains end because even when it...
Hopefully someone can give some advice. I've had an Oxford Migmaker 240 for probably 5 or 6 years, though in that time its had a very easy life and had worked perfectly. But yesterday I tried to use it and it seems to be frequently cutting out and was basically unusable. Its not overheating...
I've just acquired this when clearing out my recently deceased gran's shed.
It's an unlabelled mystery bottle of home brew made by my not recently deceased grandad. He died in 1991 so all I knew for sure was it's older than that.
Turns out it's mead and not only still drinkable but pretty...
Thanks for that Ed. I'll make sure i keep it in good condition. Seems to have held up remarkably well so far.
I didn't image it was worth anything just a nice memento as you said. And and interesting 'thing' to have in any case. I have considered buying one in the past but i never did as i...
I just got this, i know nothing about it other than a quick google, its a Taylor's the 1000 razor. It belonged to my grandad who died in 1991, no idea how old it is though.
I gave it a quick clean up and sharpen/strop, the bald patch on the back of my hand suggests its in working order now...
One thing to bear in mind here is that a 16/32 or whatever amp fuse or breaker wont blow/trip the second you stray over those amps.
I just nicked these numbers below from some random forum so i cant vouch for the accuracy, but for MCB's anyway...
Type B - trips between 3 and 5 time full load...
Hi Guys can i just ask, in terms of welding pretty thin material you've been discussing here (say 0.7-1mm steel and aluminium or even less) what sort of amps would you be working at roughly? I ask because i'm looking at getting a tig welder (purely for tinkering) and the minimum amps vary a bit...
I have quite a few old ones. Oldest are 1951 and 1953 i think. But as has been said several are relegated to dirty fuel/waste oil duty due to the red paint flaking. I dont think i would really trust most them for anything more advanced than a lawnmower really though i used to use them a fair...
Thanks guys.
Matrixx presumably that's plus vat so that's basically the same as i was quoted (and in line with T0rnado69's example too), though i'm sure the guy said 230 bar. I currently have an argon mix bottle from SGS gases so i think i'll see what they are like for rent free. I'd probably...
Ive just been looking into this offer, the prices seem to be all over the place which is a bit irritating. I was just quoted from their online chat £47 rental and £47 per fill plus VAT for a size Y pure argon. Weighing it up against rent free but that refil price isnt much less than the rent...
yea if there had been any danger of injury i wouldn't even be thinking about it but it happened at about 3mph so although my wife and kids were in the car it wasn't really felt, only the grinding noise gave the game away. Even the most enthusiastic whiplash claimant would have struggled with...
I know it doesnt looks like much but t cut isnt going to touch it as all the paint is gone in quite a few places down to the black plastic. Not a big job for someone who knows what they're doing though obviosuly.
I'm probably leaning that way, as i said it looks a little worse in person, hard to get a good shot. Its only because the car was unmarked before and i've never had a car before that i would have even cared about this amount of damage on.
