Hi, the wire feed motor on my clarke 150en turbo has worn out, can anyone recommend a better wire feed motor replacement, as the clarke one was never that strong from new.
Cheers..
Hello i was thinking of getting a tig welder, i have seen this for sale local to me for £450 it comes with torch and clamp but no pedal...
It looks old to me....is it a good tig welder?...is it worth it?
Thanks
Ive had a look at the power setting switch...i cant see any burnt connections..
I measured the ac from the transformer..it was 24 volts..
Im sure it was 26 the last time i measured it..?
Not tried the bulb test yet eddie...
Ok i got a clamp meter and the machine was only hitting around 70amps when welding...i then fitted a new rectifier and it made no difference...still hitting around 70 amps..?
What on earth could be wrong with it..?
Yes i plugged it into mains its still the same.
I tested the ac from the transformer...its pulling 26 volts...that was on a extension lead.
I checked the rectifier again for blown tails but they all seem fine...with no evidence of burnt connections..
It looks to have had very little use and im...
Ok ive plugged it into a very heavy duty extension lead and that made no difference.
I then checked the power selector...it does go up in increments from 23 to 37.
I have taken the side off and checked for sparks while i used the welder...nothing sparked inside...
It all looks pretty clean...
Hi i bought myself a second hand snap on pro mig 187.
I have been having a go of it and found that it dosent seem very powerful...its ment to go up to 180amps but its struggling on 3mm steel on its highest setting.
My old clarke 150en is more powerful than the snap on.
Surely there must be...
clarke
its about 14 years old mr weldquip.
i also used to have a lincoln norweld 210 mig welder.

clarke
well mr weldquip
i was welding the other day my wire jammed and went into the machine and shorted out something because my sire speed went top speed.
i turned off machine and pulled the wire out, turned it on and it still goes top speed when trigger is pressed, there is no variable...
