OK mate thanks, size isn't really an issue tbh I just want something that will do the job to a decent standard and is decent to learn with, I will splash out on a high spec ac dc when I've got a proper unit in a couple years or so
I'm liking the look of that, those are tiny aswell arnt they?
Is there much advantage to having a pedal or are they just a bit of a gimic?
Also the Jasic unit sold by weldequip looks interesting anyone got experience with those?
Evening everyone
After a while mig welding I'm looking at learning to tig as Ive got a few automotive projects including making a manifold which ideally needs to be tig welded.
I've got a budget of probably around 400-500 though the cheaper the better and only really expect to get a dc for...
thats the one i got and its perfect, wescol are very very respected and proven manufacturer (important considering the pressure in a gas bottle) and weldequip are top notch, will only go elsewhere if i need something locally in a hurry or weldequip dont have it ;)
hi ya, im in sittingbourne aswell, live over on the kemsley fields estate but used to spend alot of time over bapchild as i used to work at pomphreys when it still was ;) welcome to the forum
thanks mate, thought that may have been the case, im not sure what us actually there, just spoke to the agent on the phone so will know more when i go have a look. what sort of price should i expect to pay to have a meter put in?
as per the title i am in the process of looking to rent/lease a unit to use an on the side motor vehicle and welding workshop. first of all what use class would this come under? the building im looking at is apparently b1/b2 and is in the middle of an industrial estate, no residential settings...
what happens with the makitas is that if left for a long time especially on low charge the monitoring chips still powers itselft but only from 1 cell, which if left to imbalance enough will naf them up, you can get a recell kit from ebay for not that much that uses the exact same cells and anly...
space is also a bit of a limit for me, by workshop i mean a single garage about 2.5 meters wide and maybe 1.5 times the length or a normal garage so a bit on the small side lol, and atm its having to double up as the shed aswell :/ hence looking at a small one, i may have to look into spending...
im about to start a new job that should turn out to be reasonably well paid and is gonna put me in a position where i will be able to seriously upgrade my workshop kit. as a junior light vehicle and hgv technician metalworking skills are useful but metalworking etc is also a hobby and having...
i will drain down the gas, silly not too and and pressurized gas will find a way out causing wear in the process, but i dont touch the regulator or flow meter, i know i should but im too lazy to set it all up again :/
ive learnt to weld with a cheap auto helmet which is ok till you come to have to weld at work with a flip lens helmet, lets say i did forget to put the lens down a coupe of times :whistle:
ive got a weedy ole migmate 105t(picked it up second hand for £46 a couple months ago) and generally its gonna be doing automotive stuff but i wanna do a bit of light fabrication of just about anything i can lol the problem with the migmate atm is the wire feed for one and for 2 its lack of...
i was joking mate lol, the biggest tv its gonna see is a 42inch plasma and thats unlikely
and you could support a 50m screen from 20mm solid bar, you just would need alot of it :P
anything and everything lol, i just love welding rofl, but atm i wanna make a mobile bench/trolley with a work surface, vice, space for my welders, and gas bottle etc all in a self contained unit, and im making a tv stand thingy for our new house but apart from that iyts just a case of as and...
