I bought a set of the US Pro long spanners from Amazon and they have been a godsend when working on suspension parts - not bad for a 8-24mm set that cost £35 :)
I was looking for a cheap and cheerful inverter arc welder and managed to find this this on ebay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225843922546?hash=item349558c672%3Ag%3AthUAAOSwBQ1lP9A1&_trkparms=%2526rpp_cid%253D5d8cce9aa937f33a775e44ce
It's branded as Mac Allister and looks like an older GYS...
One thing to note when using sanders like the Mirka is that the extractor suction shouldn't be too high otherwise the sander bogs down on the workpiece.
I tried a Tado thermostat for a week but have replaced it with a Drayton Wiser setup. The Tado was great until the internet dropped out and there was no hot water - I have since found out that it does not store the timings locally, it has to be pushed from Tado's servers and there is no...
I use this with my SGS bottle - I couldn't find it on Welding Supplies Direct but I'm sure they will do it too.

I think IFL were Freeman/Green 3K before they were bought out and rebranded as Inverter Fusion. I remember researching this many years ago when I bought my first "serious" tig welder. They were highly recommended on the forum 10+ years ago but don't seem to have evolved in that time. They...
Grey primer? I've fitted new discs which were painted in this way to protect them. It wears off quickly when you use the brakes so no issues with braking performance.
I recently had my tyres replaced at Costco and was impressed with them using a torque wrench (after checking the correct setting at 130Nm) and then getting another fitter to check all wheels. This was being done on all cars going through the tyre bay. The studs were put in with an impact...
The parts manual has the following table with the synergic lines and mix 1 and 2:
I've found the steel lines to be spot on with my unit. I just use it with the basic menu and it works well for me.
The way I've understood it is that the neutral is nominally at 0v (same as earth) and the voltage on live is relative to neutral. Before RCDs were common, things would work if only the earth and live were used since you still got a voltage on the live relative to earth. If neutral and live are...
A new head unit will come with a cage so take the old one out and replace with the new one. You'll probably find the ISO connector on the old one unclips from the cage so that should plug into the new radio too. Same with the antenna connector. The cage you have in there is designed to allow...
I thought I had some photos from mine when I converted it but don't think I have any. I had to do the same with cutting a new slot and fitting a new clamp at one end. When I laid out the wider paper on the drum I left about 5 mm between each spiral because that helped give more tolerance for...
When I had this issue I ended up relocating one of the sandpaper holding clips on the drum to allow me to use full size (115mm) strips. Post a couple of picture of the drum to see if this is viable.
After having machines with either lots of knobs on or lots of menus, the Lorch is fantastic because it made me realize how much of a distraction all the adjustable settings are when tig welding. I improved my welds more by having a lesson than just being able to tweak every setting to the nth...
My Lincoln Speedtec and Lorch Handytig came with two pin Euro plugs so it seems common. I use an adapter to plug them into normal 13amp sockets without problems.
Congratulations, whether you benefit directly, indirectly, or not at all from it, it is just part of the ongoing process of learning and achieving so treat it as an accomplishment rather than a ticket to greater things and you will be better for it.
I guess this is the difference between sharpening to earn a living and sharpening as part of a hobby - I've been down many rabbit holes when sharpening for woodwork but do enjoy seeing what can be achieved. I have to admit it is painful when a wonderfully sharp edge is destroyed by a hard knot.
