I would recommend using something like Waxoyl for that application.
Depending on if you want to do it yourself = really messy! or pay someone else to do it is entirely up to you.
If done well it only needs re-doing every 3 years or so, depending on what/where you drive.

POR15 is a fuel tank sealant, available from amoung other places as

it does not require re-doing every year but you cant really use is to coat, say,
a chassis - unlike waxoyl for example.

the prop shaft is held on by a pinch bolt and the engine side, just under the rubber boot, so it wont fall out.
IIRC the diff is offset to one side on the reliant axle so its not a problem.
not sure of moggy axles tho.

for anyone else contemplating a trike:
the Honda CX500/650/650TURBO (!) engine is shaft drive.
simply remove the final drive section and the shaft will bolt directly to a Reliant Robin back axle, voila! instant trike!
for those that dont know a reliant robin is a (very) small 3 wheeled car...

I'm no expert in this field but it sounds like the pressure relief valve has popped for some reason, it may just be old and weak.
Any good spares place should be able to supply a new one without having to buy a new compressor.
