After chasing around to get my old Messer bottle replaced, I ended up directed to the local AL dealers and have taken on the Albee bottle. Total price upfront was £186 and I got the quick release connector for "free"!

I have one of these welders and the first time I used it at around (their settings) 80 amps, it blew the fuse in the plug. I replaced this with a bolt, as I was working on my YY 30 amp rated extension lead (less voltage drop if you make up oversize extension leads ;)) and it then blew the fuse...

TIG with brass is really not a good way to do it, as has already been said, once you hit the brass with the intense heat of the TIG it will boil out the zinc (my estimates, but TIG arc is around 1400c and zinc boils at 750c), so your joint will be contaminated with the burn off from the zinc and...
