I say as I see, having seen numerous boards all with a common fault it would suggest something wrong with the circuit design. Engineering design errors occur everyday, check out the millennium bridge saga.
Snubbing capacitors are small value & only designed to absorb the sudden back emf & if...
The boards on the very latest boilers may use AC solenoids but previous generations like the Vaillant + others utilised a 240 to 36v transformer & then through a bridge rectifier to end up with 24V DC (half wave rectified) to operate the gas valve. I’ve seen quite a number of boards with the...
I know this is is a very common failure mode & suspect it is caused by the back EMF when the valve closes. Also observed it on the bridge rectifier feeding the gas solenoid valve, but being technicians with limited service time board change is the order of the day

They’re not the only ones.
Old lady I know had a service contract with a well known Utility supplier who claimed to look after her world.
On one service they told her the gas solenoid valve on her boiler was faulty but “obsolete” & unobtainable. The only solution was yes you’ve guessed it...
I fitted a similar set up in my previous house for my grandkids. Ran hot feed from combi to an external tap next to cold external tap.
Didn’t bother with thermostatic valve just part filled paddling pool with cold & the topped up from hot tap to comfortable temperature. Got sick of watching them...
Think I may have found the source of the P05 fault. Once the machine top cover was removed, found the water level pressure switch flapping around in the breeze as one of the plastic ‘barbs’ had broken off the mounting bracket. In coming loose two blue wires had pulled out of the switch...
Thanks for the information Mike, I don't think the pump seal has failed as we did get it to run & pump out on spin/empty cycle. Your & brightsparks suggestion of either the level switch sensor failing or its attached tube blocking seems to fit in exactly what happens when the machine is set for...
The daughters Hotpoint washing m/c stopped working & came up with an F05 fault. Check on the t’internet indicated problems with pumping out. Pump filter checked & clear. Waste pipe checked & found to a little blocked with crud. Pipe given good clean & did manage to get the m/c pumping out on...
When I’ve been sailing it’s standard to have an isolation switch between the two batteries & as soon as the standby diesel is stopped, the isolation switch is opened to ensure you always have power to restart the engine.
I know you’re involved with boats so you’ll know that already.

When I had to use a carbide burr rapidly realised how sharp the shards are.
Gloves & eye covering essential.
Having sorted out the personal protection, turned to how to pick up the shards off the floor.
Considered purchasing a magnetic door sweeper but borked at the price. In the ended...
Had our Bosch Worcester for 20 years, its had 3 faults, circulating pump (grundfos) packed up (same could have happened on a conventional boiler setup), air fan went u/s, diverter valve stuck in HW position but not a lot different to faults on a basic wall mounted type.
We elected to retain...
When my daughter moved house, the previous owner had been a ninety year old man who was pretty much housebound. He had employed a gardener to keep the extensive garden tidy & the hedges trimmed.
Having moved in my daughter discovered the lazy gardener had only trimmed the hedges & the over a...
The flow gauge screws onto the regulator outlet & you’ll need a tail connector to connect to the flow gauge outlet. Don’t block the small hex nut on the regulator its a an over pressure relief valve RonA
