Is it OK to spray this without using air fed mask etc etc? This paint is being advertised all over Ebay, and from what I can see is intended for marine use, where its likely to be applied by brush or roller. So I would be very interested to hear some accurate info on this, as it seems ideal for...
Simple and inexpensive tooling to help with hydroforming is easily made, either using resin or even cheaper concrete, so quite complex shapes seem feasible.
I think nearly every current production trials machine uses aluminium exhaust system from the header pipe back, and this goes back to as...
The sole reason I asked the question initially was to see if anyone had experience of hydroforming aluminium.
As several manufacturers of trials bikes have been using aluminium exhaust systems for many years with no problems, I didnt find it particularly helpful to be told it couldnt be...
The car is beyond economical repair............if the roof is that bad the rest is probably worse, so best to scrap it and look for something less rotten.
9 times out of 10 a quality used MIG set will be a far better buy than a shoddily made DIY machine bought new. As for guarantees, I have been using my old Murex set for 25 years now, and its still going strong no problems at all.........not sure whether a Clarke or Sealey would still be working...
If you need to ask on here, then I would suggest finding someone who knows exactly what they are doing to go with you to check any prospective purchase. Before anything else though you will need to work out exactly what you will be doing with the machine, the capacity required, and most...

Details safety aspects and also the lower viscosity materials you would need to use if spraying with conventional spray equipment.
You might succeed if the box is completely free from oil, you can vee out the crack, and you have a good quality MIG set, but bearing in mind the cost of Argon, wire, teflon liner etc etc, it would probably cost less to take it to someone with TIG set.
You need to carefully consider what you hope the finished car is going to be worth before spraying it yourself, as a patchy spray job will take an awful lot off the value. Also remember you will need air fed mask to spray epoxy primer, as this is pretty nasty stuff if you breath in the vapours,
Not sure it would bend 3mm, but probably all the rest no problem..........take a look at the JD2 draw bender imported in to the UK by Tubela: http://www.tubela.com/
They are around £300 and you just need to buy the formers for tube sizes you want to bend.
Should be ideal for making things...
1mm cutting disc in an angle grinder works very well indeed, and no real reason to use anything else unless you are working somewhere with no power supply.
