I like how simple the engines are, low pressure diesel injection very little to go wrong and easy to fix if it does. No electrics either to chase around for hours.

I have just bought another escort van and was searching up rear chassis rails when I spotted some familiar pics on Google and thought... That looks the same as my van was. Lol
Just noticed my post from the past. Never finished story off.
I did end up cutting a rectangle hole in the side of the van and then through the inner sill to access the upper sides of the repair.
Did a full rebuild of area and refitted inner sill at end and outer body piece.
Poor van looked...
apart from the rot in the area there is loads of surface rust nearby too which not too bad.
There are other areas which need attention too but not immediate.

From what i can see i can get reasonable access to the top through the side of the van if i cut a hole through bodywork and then through inner sill and weld both back up after.
Good idea?

I have a 1991 escort van which is my general workhorse. I did plenty of work to get her through her M.O.T last year and this year i think i will struggle to get through if i cannot work out how to weld up the upper part and main part of the rear spring front mount area...
