Little play today.
Been too busy doing other work to have a play so here are a few bits I did that I remembered to photograph.
1st of all a little 'Pie-cut' bend I did with a small bit of spare pipe I had knocking about.
Then whilst doing this I realised the way I was storing my...
I only sharpen one end but keep 10/15 sharpened tungstens at the ready.
The only reason I do this as I have sharpened a filler rod on a few occasions and it annoys me haha.
Plus it helps me not mix between red and grey.
Mine had been boxed up for a few month so left it out in the sun for a day or 2 and it was a lot better. Then realised the sensor is at the top and I was in fact blocking it. Seems to be a lot better since repositioning my head around the weld although still occasionally flashes.
cheers Guys :D
Originally I tried some standard wall plugs and screws but barely held a 5kg weight without pulling out a little so pulled them back off the wall (by hand :ashamed:) and re did them with some breeze block screws from B&Q and now they comfortably hold me hanging from them at...
Nothing major but in the background of the 1st pic you will of seen these.
Well finally got them mounted.
Some nice functional pipe racks :)
Been way to busy to snap shots of other bits but will hopefully have some updates soon.
Current position is a "Customer Service Adviser"
Basically a call center bitch for a large telecommunications company.
Left school and went straight into work with vegetation clearance on the railways which eventually escalated into forestry, I do hold my forestry tickets and have my...
As in leave it on the outside of the flange and just weld the inside ?
Never thought of it like that.
People like to see welds normally ha.
I'll give it a go on my mx5 and see how it goes.
Cheers
I was going to run a quick bead around but with the pipe fully pushed in so it is flush with the other side of the flange it meets the pipe from the other side so deemed it unnecessary.
May do next time and see if it is worth the extra weld run.
Although my experience is quite limited at the moment I didn't suffer from the dreaded warp at all. I just did about 1-1.5" of weld and then moved to a different part of the pipe and come back and forth like that and as far as I could tell from mounting it back up it didn't move a single mm ...
Only just been notified of/found this so will drop Katie an email this afternoon.
As will my mum, dad, sister, brother in law and a few close friends ..... :D
The flanges were bought off eBay for around £15 IIRC.
They were only mild, again due to cost, but worked out favorable as they didn't warp at all.
I look forward to seeing your finished article :clapping:
