Needed a welding trolley, bodged this from scrap. I couldve hidden some of my feck ups with a grinder, feck it. Mig welding in the wind, not being able to see properly, mixed with being a crap welder.......Nearly finished, should do what I need it to
I had to do some chassis repairs, I was considering washing underside of the pajero, clean surface rust, red oxide, then waxoil or drinitol. Question is , am I wasting my time at this time of year.. wanted to get it done outside in the summer, I couldn't find the time.
Am going to be welding the chassis on my pajero, what paints recommended for the new steel straight after welded and rest of chassis before I underseal them?
Still a newbie welder, are the settings to high on these welds ? Been a few times I've thought my welds have been strong and later found out havnt penetrated enough and broke easy. Trying to make my container more secure after my motox bike was stolen.
0.6 or 0.8 that is the question , got another welder sorted. Am far from a good welder but hope to get there, ill be welding thin steel and chassis, odd burner project and loads of practice on steel from local engineer scrap bin. I used 0.8 on my old clarke 150te , would 0.6 be better for car...
Boc is £350 and so is the tecarc, £350 is max budget. Am still looking around local, nothing so far.
Edit: gys smart mig 162 new unused add says , could probably get for 350
