As Richard says, don’t buy cheap filler. Honestly it can frustrate the hell out of you and will make you want to give up. Buy decent materials and you’ll get the hang of it quicker.

My Kemppi Minarc’s fan runs for around 5-10 mins after I have been welding. It’s like a reminder for me when it cuts off I knows the welders cooled down and I either know where I’m up to with the job to think if it’s worth switching off or not

I am sure there are the correct implements for lifting and my brother will no doubt find out when he is back on site tomorrow.
As for who ever allowed the welder to fabricate his own brackets, they clearly do not know his limitations
