Evening All,
I am looking to apply some HMG Nisocoat 2 as a clear coat. The mixing ratio is given as 3:2:0.75. Does this mean 3 parts base, to 2 parts hardener with thinners added at 75% of the volume of the sum of the base and hardener.
i.e. 300ml base, 200ml of hardener and then add 375ml...
Yes, there has been a lot of prep to get it this far! The rest of it is bang on, or as bang on as I will get it, so I will re-prime the offending area!
Thanks for the advice, it’s much appreciated.
Evening All,
I am looking for a bit of advice. I have epoxy primered the car and have a couple of issues:
1. in a few places i.e. 1 or 2 edges, I can see tiny bits of the original (well adhered) paint showing. Should I spot prime over them, or can I just go on with the base coat?
2. somehow I...
I like the look of the R-Tech’s. I have a Portamig, which is bulletproof and welds great. However, it is only really portable if you have a nice smooth surface to wheel the beast across!!
That looks very much like my Wolf Dakota, just rebadged. Never had a problem with it. I also have a 3hp 50l direct drive compressor from SGS, which is also good.
I have a Portamig and it’s top class. However, the R-Tech has a good following and good tech support. Neither will disappoint but IMO, s/h Portamig; new R-Tech. Only my opinion though.
I think the Milling Slide for an Atlas lathe is the same as a Raglan. Hard to get hold of but may come cheaper than a genuine Raglan slide.
I have a Mk2 Littlejohn with the screwcutting gearbox. They are good machines.
When I was doing my sea training. I had at the time, not done the RN's welding course!!! I was therefore not allowed to touch the kit, I had to watch some old Chief stick countless rods to a repair, he was trying to do. In the end, he let me do it and it took about 2 mins.
Served my first apprenticeship as a welder, building Nuclear Submarines at VSEL in Barrow. None of us were kept on after the 4 years.
Then joined the Royal Navy, where I did another Aprenticeship in Marine Engineering (mechanical). Did one year on an Aircraft Carrier before going into the same...
There is lots lots of stuff to read on wrt turning and I would research that first.
There are also a couple of Raglan sites that you can download the manuals from and not have to pay eBay prices. I don't have the details to hand.
