I recently purchased a 2004 F150 yank, it's suffering from the usual rust and needs something doing about it. Now, I have no intention of stripping the truck to bits down to the chassis and painting each component individually. The best I can do is pop it on some axle stands around 0.5m about...
Tried to remove the 'plug' today but it's incredibly tight. I used a a 3/8" allen key which wasn't a perfect fit and slipped. Tried a size up and that was too big. Any ideas on what size key I may need?
I was unable to change the link in my opening post after some time. Last minute I decided to go for this 3hp compressor instead.
Mine has a blanking plug at the end and in the middle too and there is sufficient ground clearance... If so, I imagine the outlet on the tank is 1/2", can you buy...
This is going to be a stupid question, but which part is the manifold? Would the flow be limited because of the first 1/4" output?
Where's the best place to buy the fittings? And are you recommending steel fittings instead?
There is no additional access plug. Can I do the following (or is there a better way)?
1. take the blue-circled section off,
2. pop a 1/4" to 3/8" BSP adapter on,
3. 200mm 3/8" copper pipe to extend past the tank,
4. 3/8" to male 3/8" fitting,
5. Regulator/filter
How does that sound?
A couple of items arrived today, could I have some advice on how to put it all together please?
a) Should I take the entire section (regulator) off the compressor as per blue circle in the compressor photo? And then fit the filter/regulator here instead? The filter/regulator has a 3/8" BSP...
I'm a complete novice but having done a fair bit of research, I've gone for an Iwata AZ3 HTE. The Devilbiss FLG5 is another options. The only reason I didn't go for the latter is because it doesn't allow for the use of waterborne paints.
They recommended 1.8 as this would be ideal for the basecoat. And I can then limit the size (by turning the "needle knob" on the gun) for the lacquer if required and too much paint is coming out. Does that sound about right?
I've found this 3/8" hose and amended my opening post.
In terms of the regulator, the following two are the only one's which I can see on the bay. I'm not sure if the first one even filters out water (or do ALL regulators filter water?) and how it connects. The latter seems to be a 3/8" to...
