My hosting moved!
Gates still working :) - except that my bottom drop down support posts do not work so well as the central bit rusts up inside the outer sleeve. I need to sort something else out when i get a chance!. The sprung clips still work fine though im goping to weld some...
is 350ci 5.7litres?
Go on then - what MPG do you get? :)
Is it better or worse than the 10-12mpg I got from a LR 101 ambi on petrol? ;) (now on gas so i can afford to drive it!) Your truck is much more aerodynamic and lighter.
They look kinda like some of the trailer ones i have seen but mounted the other way up.
On the far wheel in the piccy the hub appears to be higher than the base of the trailer - like it would be if you mounted a trailer one the other way up.
shoulda made the whole thing bigger bore. Should be an easy job on a landy :)
I used to run my 2.5Diesel 2A through a cherry bomb exhaust that was mounted underneath the passenger seat (It was at the back like yours where the proper silencer used to be but i shortened it due to it snapping a...
no, sorry!, shop4steel as in the topic ;)
I didnt notice this second page when i pressed reply..
Though looking at their prices they are a lot cheaper than parker (about 1/4 of the price for 25mmx3mm angle!) so i might be tempted to use them again but will get it delivered next door or...
I used them earlier this year.
Wasnt impressed by their delivery - I paid for and expected next day but they didnt show up.
Then they didnt answer the phone, or my emails or ring me back when i left a message that evening or the next day.
Stuff then turned up at about 8 am after 3 working...
Slow the wire down and use it on max 2. Slower wire feed should improve the penetration
Though - I tried the gasless wire with my MIG and also found it didnt penetrate very well which is why i am using gas instead.
Which Max? 1,2 or 3?
If you are on 1max and it is blowing holes thru the chassis you need to make the patch bigger or start saving for that new chassis ;)
I use that place for gas and wire as they are kinda local. Nice guys.
They only charge £10 for that wire normally (thats what they charged me a couple of weeks ago anyhow!)
Nice job. I need to make some brackets like that for the spots on my landy. My old ones fell off!
Your setup looks a lot like mine - You are working outside on the patio (I currently carry my metal cutter outside and use it on an old table), and I keep having to do bends by cutting and welding...
Looking at it, the regulator with the 2 gauges does just appear to have 2 threaded inlets, so looks like it could be a 'normal' reg unit of some kind.
One side has does appear to have an adaptor section that goes straight onto the pub gas bottle on one end and into the regulator unit at the...
Thats exactly how the towbar that came on my last saab 900 worked - though that was an official saab one with a plate on. Its just ~3mm wall box that fits inside another bit of box.
The car was ~85 or so thus nicely exempt from any regulations.
I have other older cars with towbars and no...
You need a regulator something like mine. Have take a piccy
Cost £30-£40 I think. I paid £40-something including the gas bottle.
The hose that comes off it has a funny little push in end at the other end into which the gas pipe from my welder fits.
The place i get my co2 from get it in big bottles and then decant it into little ones. They just seem to do it by linking the two together and then opening the taps and leaving them to equalise until the weight of the little bottle hits a certain point.
I cant see why you couldnt do this with...
£250 shouldnt be too tricky!
I've done the same as Shug except that i use cheaper gas. I'm using pub bottles at £12 a time. On my third in 6 months or so (though ive done a lot of welding).
My costs were almost identical apart from that.
If you buy a bigger roll of wire it costs a lot less...
I think the wooden posts look fine with the ironwork. Once stuff grows it will look even better.
I always thought that the pro's would have a more refined way of bending a nice curve than that ;)
There is usually atleast one hot day per year! ;) I somehow managed to have it free last year and got both my cars waxoyled!
Looking at your piccys, you have some welding to get done. No reason why you cant do it though! - repairing it is much cheaper than a new chassis!
Cut it out and see...
