Hi, yesterday I was using my Tec-arc 181 with out problems, today i was going to continue welding but it appeared I was out of gas, checking the gauge there's still gas left so I did a bit investigating and found the gas is leaking (badly) through a hole in the euro connector/wire feed motor...
Sorry, I didn't say its cast aluminium I have a ac/dc TIG but only acceptable skills with ally. My initial thought was to cut it out square and make a new part out of plate to weld in, one of the problems is my machine is only 160amp and it looks like the repair piece would be about 10mm...
Hi, this inlet manifold is for sale on ebay at the moment as can bee seen one or the branches has a bit broken at the flange. What would be the best way to repair this and is it within the skillset of my very average TIG welding abilites. If the price doesn't go up much I'll probably buy it...
Thanks for the answers, I thought it would be OK but just wanted to check. I'll have a go at repairing it but the hose ends are crimped, still nothing to loose.

Hi, my MIG uses a MB 15 but unfortunately the hose was damaged cutting the the trigger wiring, the gas hose and partially severing the braided earth. Any way I have access to a new Binzel MB25 which looks a very good quality torch but the instructions say the wire size should be 0.08-1.00, I...
Err, thanks for that...I think. When its put like that not a lot of actual welding time from a bottle, thankfully I'm just a hobby welder so I'm just trying to work out if I can afford it to play with.

Hi I've recently moved to France and had to give up my old bottle of argon, I can buy a bottle here without contract for approx £300 (full) and then about £75 for a refill. The Argon bottle is filled to 200 bar of 2.3 m3 which to me suggests 2300 litres so if I use a gas flow 10 litres per min I...
Thanks all, I've looks at hiring a luton with a tail lift but the companies I spoke to weren't keen on their vehicle being take abroad also we'll be using the trailer to 'de-clutter' the house before we sell. Thanks for all the assistance.
Mike
We all want to know or is it just you  moving house to France in a bit so it's tools, benches, 2 motorbikes, a life times collection of workshop stuff and not forgetting my MIG & TIG, nothing particularly heavy just a lot of bits and pieces and I'd rather have a trailer too big than run...
Guy's, that's great I knew I would find find the answer here there's a great wealth of knowledge on this site. Now off to search for a box trailer
Thanks for all the reply's
Mike
I'm sure someone on here will know the answer, my van can tow a maximum of 2000 Kgs and I'm looking to buy a trailer ,the trailer I would like has a gross weight of 2700 Kgs can I legally tow this, it would never be loaded up with anything like the vans maximum towing weight but I need the size...
Be careful not to use too much pressure 15-20 PSI will be more than enough any more may damage it, if it were mine I would seal up as penfold described and use a vacuum pump to see if it can hold a vacuum. Easier than messing with air lines and tubs of water.
Thanks for the comments and help, the 4-pin XLR plugs are available on a well known auction site and I've managed to find wiring diagrams for my machine. What I need now is an old foot pedal to modify (don't want to buy a new one to start modifying) and someone to decipher the diagrams and tell...
Thanks everyone for all the feedback it's giving me a few things to try, it does have a down slope I have it set at 2 secs if I remember correctly (Mr Migwires recommendation). The machine does have a socket for a foot pedal its 4 pin socket like this...
I've had a look on the net and there...
Hi, a week ago I bought a SIP 160P from Mr Migwire from this very forum, I wanted to have a go at TIG welding especially welding aluminium, first I have to thank Mr Migwire the machine is great and he gave me enough consumables to get me started he even gave me some waste alu to practice on...
