There are centrifugal switches in some bench grinders, I have two kamasa grinders with them, and a makita without, strip it down and have a look, very unusual foir a winding to go open circuit without magic smoke appearing!

Unfortunately yes, and it usually isnt cheap, although ifyou can show it is in a wrong or dangerous place you may get a goodly discount! Try them and see!

give it a good flush out with flushing oil and refill with the correct grade compressor oil. I have a Clarke that has been running like this for many many years, still going and build up to pressure quick smart! If the piston rings were a problem I would expect a long running time and a...
According to your sketch, each end of the coils have different colours on them!! I had assumed that each coil would have the same colour on either end. Try this You have three coils, A B abd C. A1 is one end of the A coil, A2 is the other and so on. Were the wires set in the two bits of...
To elaborate a bit , to use the brooks book method you connect A1 B1 and C1 together, and put the three phases to A2 B2 and C2, thus connecting the motor in star, for whichyou need 415V. Let us know how you get on!
Phil
If you can get hold of a "Brooks book" from brook motors (on ebay perhaps, seen them on there) there is a detailed method of sorting out this problem I will see if I can find my copy and get back on in a bit!
Phil
Right I found it but it is no help as you need a three phase supply for testing...
The SSD generally holds the O\S only, it is not where you put your programs unless you have a big one! If you still have a HDD it will still need defragmenting regularly. SSD is much faster than HDD, but you can get terrabytes on an HDD for cheap these days. Any computer that is taking 30...
The SSD contains only the O\S and as said should not, and indeed usually cannot be defragmented, mainly because it never fragments in the first place, Most computers still use a hard drive as well, and because of the way the windows o\s works when a program is closed it is loaded back onto the...
Auto defrag is a "background task", It cannot operate while your computer is in use. in other words, if you turn your puta on when you need it and turn it off when you have finished, it will probably never happen. Lets face it, it is made by Microshaft! Defrag it, then run Advanced system care...
defragment the hard drive!!! then download advanced system care and do a full scan and see how much it speeds up your load and time to ready! Ilove ASC so much I actually bought the pro version, and I am a mean Yorkshireman!!

The answer is very probably! I noticed that the ordinary mains BC led bulbs work as machine lamps and are just as bright on 24-50v ac! Wehad a power cut one day, and I wandered into the other end of the workshop to check the mains, and found to my surprise that the light in there worked...
True, but if the wire is welding to the liner as soon as it leaves the roller then obviously a potential difference exists between the wire and the liner. If this is a live torch type welder where the trigger just turns on the feed motor, then perhaps the liner is earthed out somewhere, or the...
Yes, you can get plastic liners, but they are not very good! When I got my first MIG, a Clarke, which I still have and working well, it had a plastic liner, I was running a new spool of wire into the liner when the wire appeared through the side of the umbilical and kept coming! this is a major...
for now try a plastic liner, the liner should not carry current, only the contact tip should be live, current is getting to the liner from some damaged insulation, try stripping the gun to look for bare cables etc.
Hope this helps

I think lathes.co.uk do the flat belts! if you have valves to grind you cannot beat these machines, a quick touch up and lap provides a much better seat than hours of grinding!
