Sounds good then, thanks for the replies on this. Im going on what the instructions say, ill do it how others do it, i did make sure it all looks neat and level etc, one did go off centre a little bit but re did it.
Oh and its before the flare, after taking the swarf etc out using a drill peice.
It would make it so much easier to 'pencil file' the ends before flaring it. Im fitting a complete set, done the front, i want it to be done right with no leaks first time.
Would the angle not being straight all round mean that when fitted itwill squash itself at the perfect 45 degree angle...
Hi,
Im looking for a tool that looks like a pencil sharpener that can file the end of a brake pipe at the 45 degrees angle, it takes a while for me to file it neatly, especially when fitted on the car.
Does anyone know of a tool or technique to get this angle neatly filed ready for the...
Today i got my self some quality inline filters and realised the compressor was at maximum pressure, not set around 50psi. I set it at 50psi and not had any water droplets in the filters at all, i think the lower output has somehow stopped the water from the cylinder coming through.
The water...
The oil is what the shop had put in when i bought it, not touched it yet and some has come out the oil breaather filter pipe thing. It could be my over sencitive nose, iv smelt gas leaks when the gas engineers machine didnt trace any from next doors grill.
Im getting some nice water traps etc...
Can somone tell me why the cylinder has oil residue coming out and recently the water traps has a lot more in them an smells of oil? Its a new compressor and was told via woman at shiremore the rings will be fine an said she will call back, this was before the bank holiday too, not that happy...
I nearly bought some as well but thought you get what you pay for, although i went for some DeWalt of ebay and got another make from my local diy shop that says it will outlast 25 other types of flapdisks. Its made differently to the others i've used. Sorry cant remember the name of them just now.
Good stuff that is, i was going to suggest it before i read your post. Its far cheaper and it wont loose colour again as its a dye. When i last used it, it did take a while to dry but usually takes 15 minutes. Wear gloves though, else you'll get grey fingers.
As its french, the colour should...
pikeys/travelers are known to be thieves that dont care, unlawful people going from place to place collecting items. Gypsies are a traditional honest culture of people. The two names should not be categorised the same.
Not much of a clue about paint, yeah right ok then if you say so. I wasn't being rude, i was trying to advise him the quickest and easiest way to get the info, im really not sure why you think asking them is wrong and asking here is better. They gave me advice that no one else could, i didn't...
Steveo said same day, i would not do it same day.
So what your saying is Jotun dont know their products better than anyone else then ?
After 3 days mine was still soft and has gained excellent adhesion with no flash of problems, which you may get painting on top of 87 the same day or next...
Did you use summer or winter hardener?
I waited 3 days before applying the 2k paint onto the 87. Jotun said themselves, 3 days drying time is the ideal time for it to flash off well before the 2k paint is applied, summer hardener of course.
Have you given them a ring and ask your...
I used a wooden flat spatula used for frying food, very wide and did the job well.
I painted another 2k paint onto the 87 3 days later before it fully cured itself.
I think its best to ring Jotun them selves, ask for technical and they will sort you out properly.
This is what i use, you can do your tyre walls, interior trim, plastics and comes in a grey colour too. Always wear gloves with this stuff as its a dye and lasts a long time, very impressed with it...
Same here, only the other day i was preparing the back end of the chassis floor pan and tried to chip this Jotun off the floor pan with a bluntish chisel and it just would not come off, very impressed with its adhesion abilities.
It takes 7 days to fully cure, depending on temps and hardener...
I still cant watch it, its on 24 7 even on the news.
Im not watching it yet mostly down to the fact we as a country hosting it is at number 24 in the medals league table.
Have you seen some of the countries that are so much higher than us ?
Nice work there Ian, that sort of job isn't something i would attempt to sort out myself, not yet anyway lol.
Did you use any weld through primer behind the scuttle panel you did so well ?
