Random thought popped into my head sometime prior to sunrise this morning. Could a Bike be put on a frame and the wheel/tyre used via a belt drive to run an alternator that could be used to charge a phone or other battery? If so, what is the simplest/cheapest/most reliable way to utilise the...
I'm planning to 'bin' the whole lot later this year and replace with a complete boiler install where the tank currently sits. I'll need to run a flue through the loft so that'll wait until summer when I can also strip the roof tiles and re-felt the windward side. I just need to keep it all...
Ta.
I've got a magnetic trap on there already and it collects about a teaspoon of material every year. The corrosion I'm worried about is the blue/grey ali sort and it collects at the lowest point (Exchanger). I did wonder about a clingfilm lid over the expansion tank to reduce the oxygen...
Hello.
I've an (old) British Gas 330+ Boiler with a cast alloy heat exchanger. It's about to have a 3rd heat exchanger fitted. They've all suffered from blockages due to corrosion products collecting in the exchanger. Am I missing something?
The boiler is downstairs, the pump is upstairs...
I was chatting with a colleague who regularly flies BIG bizjets around. He said it would be no trouble bringing in a few thousand primers for my 357 Magnum reloads. I mentioned that it was highly illegal but he said that they rarely ever get checked and there are plenty of places to stash...
I have a 5mm one for gun bores. Very good visuals. Got it 5 years ago. Little 90 degree mirror (set at 45) for looking at the sidewalls but it gets smudged a lot. Actually better than this but it is the only pic I've got.
I bought an old, circa 1985, Hornady Pro-7 reloading press from a guy who was giving up shooting. It came with lots of useful bits that would replace stuff that I've made or borrowed. The press has a vertical tube that feeds primers into this little black cup that then swings sideways to line...
Once got called out when on "Standby". They said to get my ar53 down to the airport where a small bizjet was waiting to rapidly get me to Gatwick. I climbed in, we set off, arrived there about 20 minutes later. I climbed down one set of (very short) steps and ascended the long steps into the...
If anyone near north Brighton has any unwanted Venison then I have a room in the freezer. Not seen any Vension for sale round these parts and I don't drive fast enough to hit one.
I've gone as far as I can as a Pilot and Instructor. There are no Pilot Training jobs back home in Wales but there are opportunities to run several types of place such as Drone Ops and Maintenance bases. Ideally I just need some paperwork that makes me suitable in the eyes of the recruiters...
The original year 2 of the course is the modules that form the groundschool element of a commercial pilots' licence. I'm already an instructor and examiner with 10,000 hours on jets so they say that year 1 and 2 would be somewhat redundant. The first year is mechanical and stuff like...
At the venerable ago of 55 I've just discovered that I can do a BSc and skip the first 2 years. So, Kingston Uni, A Degree in Aviation Management, a part-time course covering the third year over 24 months.
Problem is that I've never even thought of doing a Degree before and I need to sign up...
My wife runs a non-profit charity in Wales (Ty Hapus) giving free day care to people with early onset dementia. Some fur-cars knicked their Minibus over the weekend.
