I was being a little lazy so it seems
Cleaning the aluminium a bit better helped
To reply to some comments, it's only a issue in ac
Tungsten prep is not so critical in ac as you end up with a ball in a few seconds anyways
Besides, I always sharpen my Tungsten conventionally (towards the...
Hi guys
I dont often do thin aluminium tig
But when ever I do, I notice the arc starts high up in the cup and not on the end off the ball
Low amps around 40 amps
Ac tig all the usual settings
Nothing far out yet my arc cone starts way up high in the cup
Lorch T220 argon all the normal...
No Offence taken, nor am I angry,
I was born dyslexic, and my style of writing has often had me appear angry, I kind or type in Stright man's talk so to speak.
the link is for the chargeverter, this charger is probably the best on the market right now.
in the video, this guy tests it, AND takes it apart.
YOU WILL SEE INSIDE, no brains, just two transformers and a tiny circuit board to set the values, ie volts and amps.
there is NO charging...
I am running my workshop FULLY of grid, I have 20kw of battery, plus a monster of an Inverter capable of 12kw for one min, 8.5kw for half an hour and a continuously at 6.8kw, when there is no solar, I charge the Lifeop4 batteries with a Honda Gen going through a EGR4 chargeverter.
I can assure...
That's why modern lifepo4 batteries have a bms
As the end off the day, as far as i am aware, there is only one DC voltage on this planet (not being sarcastic)
What matters is the DC amount
Lithium needs 14.4 where as other batteries need 13.4 or there's about
12v DC is 12v DC so the saying goes
Life4 requires 14.4v, as the battery I wish to charge has a built in BMS (stated above) as long as the battery sees 14.4v DC the BMS will control the rest, ie absorption charge, then balance
The bosh charger was for charging 24v, I am not sure if it self sensing
Hi guys
I have a bosh battery charger that's not needed for the intended battery (24v)
The underneath off the charger gives amps relating to voltage
2 question plz
1st Q
Can I limit the charger to 14.4 voltages so I can charge a lifepo4 battery (with on board bms)
2nd question
The...
Sorry guys for a lack off a reply
I am away from my workshop until tomorrow
I will do a voltage drop test on the lights on drill start up and report back
Hi Guys
I've just changed my workshop lights from florescent tubes to osram leds
I now notice my old pillar drill causes the lights to flicker but on start up, and on running
(When I start my pillar drill I get a momentery diming and when the drill runs the leds flicker a tad)
The pillar...
my bother used to be in to RC and they used silicon hose for the fuel delivery all the time with out a problem, I tried it with modern silicon, the hose swelled to twice its original size
I will look up SAE J30 R10 or R11 thanks M8
Hi Guys
I am looking for some 10mm id hose that is non wicking and non-hardening to use in a parts washer,
part off the hose sits 24/7 in fluid
what are you guys using plz
I had a little bit more off a play with the electric motor this evening.
Nothing to lose but I do like learning things new, never opened or explored a oil saturated electric motor before.
Anyway, there was what looked like a small capacitor in there, on the neutral
On closer inspection, it...
Thats what I thought, but I stripped out some of the sheath at the worst part, and there was no leaking into the wire shielding.
what has happened (at a guess) is the motor oil seal has leaked a bit, and the previous owner (I have just bought this) might have used a water biased cleaner, some...
Hi Guys
I have a parts cleaner with a little Giant 1-ys pump,
I was getting a small amount of electric coming through the metal body of the wash tank and so took the motor apart.
I did not expect to see it was oil filled (from new) but that makes sense.
I have yet to play with it further...
