I used mine recently to tune my Morris 1800 worked well. In the past I used it on my Minis. Try it in different cylinders on a Mini, and see the poor distribution of mixture between them due to the manifold design.

This saga is still ongoing. I have changed the panel that controls the time the boiler keeps the fan running after the burner is shut down. Sadly it has not helped.
The booklet I have says the fan should run for 50 seconds to clear fumes. It is not running for that lenght of time.
Any advice...
I immediately thought MG when I saw your pic. It looks similiar to the one I had on my old J2. Don't think my car had the bracket on it.
Do you mean you modified it to fit the box.

If you go the scissor lift route, make sure that the lift gives access to the middle of the car. I have an old Westinghouse hydraulic ramp that gives good clearance each end of the car but the middle is difficult to reach because of the lifting mechanism...
Loctite is sold in different grades. I used retainer can't remember the number might have been 601. It has held a gearshift splined shaft solid for the last twenty years. To release it use heat. I.E. a blowlamp.
Loctite is a good product if a little expensive, I believe it has a shelf life...
Thanks that answers my question. I have an XJS bonnet in the workshop that has a crazed finish. I suspect it was Bar coated before I bought it as it has a yellow coat underneath the top coat.
As it,s for my car I will strip it back to metal before I attempt to spray it...
Thanks for the reply, I was wondering why people advised against it. I seem to recall the manufacturer advises one coat, but I have heard that some people use more than one.
The TR7 is tidy but not worth hours of work. It is more to extend it's life, and save me work...
Hi, I am curious, I spray cellulose usually, and generally manage reasonably well.
My Son has a TR7 which I tried to spray and found that however hard I tried to merge the edges, after spraying I would get a ring round any repaired area.
I then saw a label on the body that stated the paint...
I have a Clarke 175 and have used it for hobby car repairs for the last 12 years without any trouble.
I would buy it again if I were needing a MIG set.
It is run on a 20 amp supply as I found when trying to weld at the high ranges it blew the 13 amp fuse. This is probably normal to all the...
On two occasions I have left the alternator and battery connected, once through being unaware that it was advised by the experts, the second time just careless. I was in too much of a hurry. Two alternator diode packs failed within the month.
It could be coincidence? I now disconnect before...
The main problem with filler, is the the back of the repair. If moisture/water can get to it it will permeate the filler and the filler will fall out.
I learned this on a 1966 Renault Dauphine some years ago.
If using fillers, try one of the waterproof bridging compounds first. The base...
I use standard Mole grips and a few of the specially modified Mole based grips.
I have some of the intergrips but don't use them because they space the metal being clamped, a slight distance apart.
I find close fitting butted joints are the best approach.
I just hold the repair patch...
I have an oxy mapps gas set up and do use it for brazing successfully. Not much good for welding. I have a bottle of oxygen from Adams gas. Mapps gas from Ebay.

I did a similiar job recently, I used an angle grinder with a polycarbide disc to remove loose rust and clean the surface.
I then applied Hydrate 80 then Bonda primer then Aldi black paint. One year on it looks good.
It will be a waste of time if you don't use a rust treatment first. I...
Yes the room was altered a few years ago. The boiler is in an alcove and the engineer could not give a reason why it was not allowed.
Sadly I can still smell fumes, not as bad, and I am beginning to despair.
I am starting to wonder if the fumes are finding their way back into the house, we...
