I was trying to heat a spring to reduce some of the pressure it took to compress it. This did'nt go to plan. I've tried quenching it to turn it springy again but it has no effect. Any suggestions? It's a small spring from a domestic appliance.
That's not what I'm asking.
I'm asking if what I've done has caused something in the light to blow, or whether it's a coincidence.
Overcurrent would be the only reason I can think of, but how?
I wired in a led light fitting in my garage. Previously I had been using it with a 13a plug.
I had to bodge the wiring because extending a neutral from the lighting circuit to where I needed it to be wasn't going to be easy. So I ended up tapping into the neutral from the electrical sockets. The...
Considering buying a mitre saw. I thought a double bevel would be handy, the prices say otherwise. I can buy something reasonable with a single bevel for £250, but it's going to cost you dearly should you want to bevel the other way too.
A pinecil soldering iron. Cheap and bloody good.
I bought a Chinese usb-c adaptor for my 18v DeWalt batteries and it plugs in and gets hot instantly. Recommended to load it with ironos firmware to tweak the settings further (set low voltage cutoff at the very least).
Nice. Thanks.
I'll be using it for DIY. Portable in the sense that it's not too large or heavy, and can be carried out of the shed and set up in the garden.
I've just bought this setup:

I'd rather...
I'm not ripping logs, but having the option to do so would be nice *just in case*.
Plywood, mdf, 2x4's, pallet wood etc. Perhaps a scaffold board. I might want to make a fancy chopping board from hardwood. Who knows.
Aluminium and plastic would most likely be cut as well.
Surely a £500 table...
I fail to see what that would achieve. I would be using it as a table saw, for jobs that it is capable of carrying out. I don't know what else you'd use a table saw for? There's only so many things it can be intended for.
- You should be looking in the table saw category for starters.
- The...
Ok thanks. Battery would be nice, but not sure if it's within budget. All my cordless tools are DeWalt 18v. I know DeWalt makes a 54v cordless saw, but that would mean having to buy new batteries.
I don't know why you're trying to convince me. I want a table saw!
**Language** a duck this is hard work.
- compact
- good quality
- one-time purchase
- minimal hassle out of the box
- £500 budget
I've got a aldi bandsaw which I use for metal, but it doesn't have a fence or mitre gauge, or any way of adding one without time and effort to make something bespoke. I don't have time to faff about. I want minimal hassle. A table saw is what I want - as stated in the very first post. Not a...
My intentions might have been something worth including had I asked 'what sort of tool do I need to do such and such'. But it wasn't. I specifically asked for info about table saws... And then I'm chastised for not being more specific.
