Do you mean that you cant remove the plastic liner from the actual brass valved block of the torch or from the black plastic sleeving that covers the power/liner/gas feed.
My migmate 130 was setup for disposable gas from the factory and ive chanegd the torch before.... unfortunatley I dont...
Lubrication/Coolant is something I hadnt considered with the rage I always assumed it was more for drilling and bandsaws etc
Does anyone know how well lube works on the rage blade?, is it worth it?
Why does stuff always go wrong and the most annoying time!!
Let me set the scene for you..
.. its a sunny weekend in the british empire, I dust off my welding gear and realised that a mouse/rat has eaten the whole knee of one of my overalls.
>>> STRIKE 1
.. who needs overalls? not me! hood and...
Well they certainly arent silent thats for sure but I would say they are better than angle grinder but can be loud in garages or small rooms, maybe my angle grinder is extra noisy because its extra cheap :)
I did consider the bandsaw option but for me this saves space and is multifunction...
Finally decided that I have had it with cutting box/tube/plate by hand.
The angle grinder just annoys me (and probably the neighbours!) and im getting a little bored of the hand arm vibration.
So earlier in the week I took the plunge and got myself a rage evolution chop saw. The price is...
Ive voted for Lazy Stubbler.
Havent done a wet shave in at least 5 years now. Got a eletric trimmer thing that actually has a 'lazy stubbler' setting so I can look ragged every day!!
Every now and then I treat myself to a proper razor shave down at the barbers and really enjoy it. Call it...
Stevo the argos angle grinder is cheap for a reason. It has so much hand/arm vibration that after 20 minutes of continous use it will feel like you are using someone elses arms!!
As you pointed out, Ok for hobby use but useless otherwise.
Depending on the complexity and color of the transfers you could use them to make a template. Then spray the design on using the template and laquer away to your hearts content.
Generally my tools are not allowed to leave my sight. The only exception being when I cant remember where I last left the ******s.
If a tool must be borrowed I generally steer the conversation onto how I will do the work but only if supplied with coffee/beer/food/snacks/smoke, seems fair to...
Looks good, ive been meaning to make one of these for a while and will be giving it a go at the weekend. Luckily theres an old shop near me that sells nults and bolts and washers for mere pennys.
No probs, I may well have been completely wrong as im no expert in TIG, just sharing my view :P also I have never touched ali with the welder as my TIG is DC.
Keep up the good work
Welds dont look bad at all id be chuffed with them. One or two look a little tall, could just be down to how fast you were feeding the filler in could just be a bad angle photo. What thickness sheet and what amps were ya on?
I found it an absolute doddle to lay a bead on sheet just like you...
Im gonna tag along for the ride.. I love this sorta project
Looks like a custom rear beam there? any particular reason or just felt like amking something?
Also loving the digidash, last time I looked at one prices were soooo high :(
Used to love the program, now ive read the article on migweb im severely dissapointed. Half of the reason I bought a welder was from dreaming of living on the scrapheap =/
