This is intermittent and may be worsening. A hair dryer was curing it then I put the circuit in a bag with silica gel sachets.

It,s got the spooks i reckon. I went to ckeck the tranny and thought i'd double check my diagnosis beforehand. It decided to work! Up and down, up and down. Fine!
The feed rate seems unaffected by turning the tip current setting knob though. Don't know if this is ok as don't take...
I inherited mine from a deceased friend so I don't have manual etc. Done fine though using .6 and .8 wire. Have done bodywork but do use .6 wire and on nothing too lacey and thin. Used quite a bit on max current with .8 wire with good duty cycle.

I have an old BOC Automaster 185 mig. It was working fine then was prodding the weld pool with the wire. The wire feed is happening but it seems to be stuck on max feed but not 100% sure what that's like as it's never really been used at max speed. The feed control knob turns but has no effect...
