Thanks guys, that helps a lot.
The funny thing is EDF fitted the smart meter that we have at the moment. They didnt seem to have a problem with it.
Anyway the good news is that eon were meant to come in january but cancelled on the morning thay were coming so they paid me £30 for the...
Eon have been bugging me to get the existing smart meter upgraded. They came the other day to do the job, but the meter dude said he couldnt go ahead because of wiring issues.
The guy said he couldnt do the job because of the earth wiring, and Eon would have to get the underground cable...
I like my Elora 205s

Picked most of them up at car boots over the years.
Its some sort of solid state jobbie. https://eu.odysseybattery.com/products/ods-agm16l-battery-pc680/ They are not the cheapest, but they do last.
I'll be honest, my battery is a bit small for my car. I only get 4-5 chances to start, but fortunatley she's a first time starter most of the time.
Odyssey. Been using the smallest one, a PC680 in my old 5 series for the last 14 years. Still holds 12.7 volts over winter.
Less than half the size of a normal battery.
They do all sizes.
Another question. Do the TPMS sensors have rechargeable / replaceable batteries. I read somewhere that those with non replaceable batteries only have a life of 5-7 years, then the whole unit needs replacing.
It would be good if they could be recharged via the valve. Maybe I'm dreaming.
I think you need to use the untitled light just above the CHECK button, see pic below;
I have seen pictures with it being used for something. Looking at your dissasembled unit all the bits are there apart from the bulb. If one could trace the circuit and find the pin on the rear connector...
A question. How are you going to trigger the flashing dash CHECK light.
I notice that hackster has two versions, one that includes a buzzer. Could that feature be used to trigger it?
This looks good. I retrofitted the Check control system into my E28 some years ago so adding a TPMS would be a bit of fun and very useful.
A question, how are the TPMS sensors mounted? Where do they go?
That looks brilliant. I cant get over how clean and tidy the workshop looks!
Just one thing, cant see the waterpump/altenator drivebelt hanging down, awaiting the arrival of the altenator pully.
There are 3-4 wires/cables that go through the plastic thing that clips across the front of the timing belt cover.
1.Timing sensor, that you are showing there,
2.Spark sensor that comes off one of the spark plug cables
3.Oil pressure sensor and
4.new wires for oil pressure and oil temperature...
