Pressure drops the longer the airline is so if the compressor is a long way from the booth that may cause issues
Because HVLP stands for High Volume of air so you should use a large bore hose and fittings but as I said many don't bother
Remember if you are using a hvlp gun you'll need large bore hose and fittings from the compressor.

Nothing wrong with a polyurethane sealer/adhesive.They can be over painted.
You're getting confused with silicon sealers i think.
