We use Stihl Easy File on all of ours saws. Excellent bit of kit, sharpens the tooth and files the depth gauge at the same time. You have to get the one with the correct size for your chain as each file size is a different Easy File.
Don't pay full price, you can get them for £25, there are...
I have that set and the 3/8th one. The ratchet is pretty average(I never use it) but the set is worth having for the Whitworth and and all the extension bars. The set is quite a bit cheaper on Zoro. The price does fluctuate and if you can catch it at a low point with a 20% disount code it's a...
When I have a lot going on tools get put in plastic tubs so they go back to the workshop quickly. I'll then spend an entertaining sometimes stressful couple of hours as I sort through them and fill the gaps in the boxes. Every now and then one will be missing for a period and I'll find it and...
Engine cranes bring out the worst in people. I had someone I had never met before ring me because a friend was doing an engine build for him and said I had an engine crane he could borrow. Problem is the chap rang before my mate had cleared it with me.
I've had the same as you, put it in my car...
That doesn't always work, I borrowed a Hi-Lift jack from a friend. Before I took it back I cleaned it,lubricated and wiped it down. He was disappointed, he had got from a Regiment guy and that jack had seen action and I had wiped all the history off :ashamed:
I got some when I bought a new saw because that £16 purchase adding a years warranty.
It smells really noce when it's running too.
I just looked on the Stihl website and they do a 4 stroke version.
Not if you buy thing like Esso Supreme, it's ethanol free although the supply chain in some areas means that it's not. The pumps still say E5 even though it has none. You need to check the Esso website. I use it in everything and since I started using everything has been on the button even...
Since my post I found there is a fast charger available but only supported on higher models.
I am very tempted by a GB150 now I know I can get a fast charger.
That's the stuff I use, silver/grey container with red label. One of our local motor factors does them at £7.50 each if you buy a box of 4 which is a bargain
The OEM for the Wurth bottles is Klaeger. When you first do it seems mad to be paying £15-20 for a spray bottle but you won't regret it. They last for decades and never have any evaporation. You can also buy seal kits for them.
Two top tips
Never leave them with pump knob extended, I had someone...
Sadly with these things the numbers don't really tell the whole story and often you won't know till you try them.Cheaper brands will put whatever number they think looks best because they know nobody is ever going to be able to check. It the same as with cheap batteries that claim to be 9000MAH...
There was an Omega V6 one in Practical Classics may be the same one. They were a good power plant. I knew a chap who worked at Thames Valley Police workshop when they were motorway car of choice. When they got them the traction control switch was removed but someone discovered the heated rear...
An LS would great because they probably not much bigger than the V6 that was already in there. Turn key crate motors 350-400bhp even in basic spec and will do 250K miles easily.
When I worked for big Japanese company I remember a couple of support guys who liked a prank. We were near Heathrow so it was quite common for someone to pop to the airport and collect guys comming from Japan. One of the chaps had got a new company car and kept going on about how good it was. He...
I've always quite fancied a Schimitar GTE, I think a Volvo T5 would sit well in the front of one and make a real nice sleeper.
I friend of mine has one(not sure if he's still got it) with TVR Griffith drive train in it.
