Once you have installed the unit BEFORE powering on meter (set on ohms) between the feed assembly and the machine chassis you are looking for an open circuit (NOT low resistance) between them !
Your in the right section ! (there is no separate section for the Draper, don't seam to get many faulty ones)
The pcb looks a lot like the bigger Clarke machines (180 and up) see pics.
As such there is usually 3 devices that control the wire feed motor. 2 if I recall do the feed and 1 does the...
Try the zinc primer from screw fix (£5.99 for 400ml) gives a very good silvery colour. I know it's a primer but I have used it quite a bit as a weld through primer (cheaper than the other stuff!) Having needed to remove form some places it does take some shifting.
Also I have used it on the...
Hi matt lo
Think you will find that one of the two pairs of wires that go to the motor should have 24vDC on it all the time the trigger is NOT press. Then when the trigger is press this voltage should drop and there should be aprox 24vDC or less (depending on wire speed setting, maybe as low as...
When I read this last night I was wondering how with out some sort or spring balance to test the pulling force needed you might easily measure it. Then thought if you stand on a set of bathroom scales and note your weight, then pull up to fold and get some one to note the increase on the scales...
I started my engineering apprenticeship at Hares but had to complete at Aerospace due to recession at the time (it was a long time ago ) so can't comment on that model but back then there presses were built like battle ships. They got hit during the recession by the match company up at...
I think I get what you are describing with the slit in the wire guide tube. I would think it's done to try and stop bird nesting of the wire.
As from your description it has a euro socket then if the over all build of the machine is good then it might be worth investing in a feeder assembly...
Have you considered CO2 for mig (no as nice a looking weld) and then when your mix bottle is due for refill you could go for straight argon.
CO2 from a pub bottle or fire extinguisher.
