I left mine on and clamped the bar in the vice with the safety lock on then used one of the files with a guide. I found it easier with just the file in the end.

I always liked the Europa, quite a unique crar, a friends sister had one. My lasting memory of the Europa from childhood was seeing the remains of one that hit a Jaguar head on and burst into flames at the top of our road. Bits everywhere, one of the doors was quite a way up the reservoir...

I have a 6ltr cleaner and did a set of Mikuni flat slides one by one in it with floor cleaner. Works well hot, I just don't leave alloy in it for any length of time as it starts to go dark grey so possibly has a small amount of caustic in.

I found the castor locks really useful for maneuvering the car as you can lock one off and pivot around its axis then lock another and release the other.
