Have any of the more experienced members got any tips on vertical MMA welding.
I need to get some practice in before i go and do my level 2 in January and i dont do any vertical in work so will be using my purple ESAb to get practicing !
So i experimented from what i have read by all your replies and this is the results of push, pull and running directly aimed at the area to be filled.
There is no visible difference in stack at all.
There is some great rpelies tbf and im glad my curiosity caused such a nice debate !
I dont know if this is actually called this but i refer to the process of building up the weld as you move along.
Now in all three pictures i did it a different way.
One way was the kind of Morse code of go,stop,go,stop,go,stop
The second was the cursive eeeeeeeeeeee looping
And the third was...
i use the yellow foam ones daily and have been for over a year now and never ever so far had any burns on them or my ears....your screen should cover the sides of your head if you are using a proper one...also unless your wailing on steel then you really do not need them as your welding should...

Very informative video which ive done a few of these mistakes before now but gives great lessons to anyone who is new to the art of MIG, i find it interesting and have watched videos of this guy before now.
