The website says carriage is free on all welding machines. They show a price with and without vat. Couldn't see any mention of import duties so I will have to do a bit more research before I commit myself
Thanks Hugh. I have been looking at the Pro machines as well as the Standard. Prices seem...

Thinking about buying a new mig and have a budget of about £500. I already have a Bluemig 150 and it's been great, but only has 4 power settings. I have used a Clarke 150 Turbo TE at work and to be honest I am not impressed. I see Paton now have a UK website and the Psi 160 looks good for the...
I had a Humax HD Freesat box and a capacitor failed in the power supply. I fitted a new one and a couple of days later it failed again. Threw it in the bin.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'd read somewhere that the Bionic was a bit flimsy and I wanted something fairly tough and hard wearing. I imagine that class B is probably good enough for most applications.
Just cutting and grinding mild steel with 4.5" and 5" angle grinders. I want something with better impact protection than the Silverline rubbish we have at work.
Looking to buy a new face shield for personal use as the ones provided at work are cheap and nasty. I like the futuristic look of the Honeywell Bionic but wonder how hard wearing it is. Also it's only class B protection. I've also been looking at the Riley Reon face shield that is class A...
I've been welding for 41 years and have owned many welding caps and masks. I've had the odd fizzer go in my ear but not been badly burned yet. I just read a horror story online about someone getting a burnt eardrum and my imagination went into overdrive. It seems that a lot of people use...
Thanks gents. I'll just get some 3M 1100 ear plugs from eBay then. The fact that fire resistant foam had been mentioned had me worrying about them melting inside my ear.
I've been thinking I ought to wear ear plugs while welding to prevent sparks and slag etc from entering my ears. A quick Google search reveals that the consensus is that fire resistant foam is required. I've looked all over Amazon and eBay and nobody selling ear plugs seems to state if their...
I'm another one that's 6' 6" tall. Been banging my head on stuff all of my life. I've lost count of the times I've turned to say hello to someone and then hit my head on a door closer.
I'd have a go at breaking up the concrete surrounding the rebar a bit more and then attack it with a reciprocating saw. You can get some long blades that should reach that.
