got another quote today from heartburn roofing in stockton.
the owner just live down the road from me.
he doesnt recommend grp due to it cracking with get hot or cold.
this the second fella who said this.
he recommend that I have the SOPREMA polyurethane felt 25 year material.
got another quote this afternoon.
he uses 18mm osb boards and said that osb boards will absorb fibre resins better than plywood.
his price £2660! and said it'll take 3 days from start to finish and said best to apply in warmer weather.
thats a grand more than the 1st fella.lol
well that Glen Meager that brightspark mentioned never turned up.
so I wont be using him.
even if he does turn next week.
if he doesn't turn up when he says then how can I trust him if I need him in emergency.
all new to me this stuff.
as for flat roof I'd rather have a pitched roof but next door can't afford it.
when we had the garage 1st built back in 79 the neighbour then already submitted plans for a 5" drop.
I said it would of been better if it was a 10" drop.
both of us then didn't have much...
3 companies I've contacted today said they only do roofing felt and single ply (rubber)
is this because of ease in installing or is better.? could it be that grp is messy to put on?
it appears that rubber is more expensive.
thanks for your replies. going for grp not had any problems with current which is over 25 yrs old.
roofman dont take it personally we all make mistakes so enjoy ya coffee and keep safe.;)
brightspark I've contacted glen so we'll see what he has to say.
finally got round to getting a quote.
one so far had quoted £1800 for rubber, £1200 for felt and £1600 for grp.
he advise me against getting grp as he had to repair a few,
I've had my Dorma roof done over 25 years ago and still good.it need a good clean and [paint now.
he quoted £400 to do both...
no .a little bit smaller about a 12"/14" long and about 8 or 9" wide and 1.1/2" approx because I've not measured them
these wood were for kitchen tops but solid teak wood.
I was going to make 3 or 4 strings guitars but lost interest.
so selling them for £100 5 necks & 5 bodies.
in the picture is...
going to build my own bench planer like the ones in the video that one of you posted on my other post.
does wattage really matter on these planers.
my old one is 450 watts (Bosch).
seen these cheap Chinese ones with watts from 1000 - 1650 watts.
yes I know cheap Chinese but I'll only be using...
