Looks like it was connected to a reversing switch, take it you don't have the switch?
Are you just trying to test it, or do you need it to run a particular direction or be reversible?
Interesting looking motor, what's it off?
I was in the same position as yourself, in the end I have just left my bridgeport on it's small pallet, easy to move with the pallet truck if need be. Forget the £20 ebay hoists they are a joke, mine stretched the chain lifting the table off my bridgeport which must be what, 100kg?? Plus it...
I'm looking to purchase an old 1980s ish Manitou masted forklift, all these forklifts look the same at first glance but look a bit closer and the masts are all very different, and there are lots of different model numbers, MB26, etc all with wildly different prices.
Can anyone help me with an...
I'm a hobby welder doing rusty cars and light fabrication, doors, gates etc... I've used a 30 year old single phase Cebora and a similar aged Sealey Supermig 180-1 and got reasonable results.
First time using a borrowed similar age Migatronic 3 phase and I was blown away by the improvement in...
My workshop has the same type of skylight and same issue, I only noticed the broken hinges when I was on the roof fixing a broken slate. The frame which holds the glass was only held in place by gravity! :o Sounds a bit wild but saying that it hasn't blown off since I've been in the place...
Hello, my welder is a Supermig 180/1 from the early 90s. I've owned it for about 10 years and it's always worked fine, but lately the wire has started slipping and tonight it's got so bad it is unusable. It's well overdue a wire liner change so I'll do that first, but where can I get a...
Anyone got a manual for the above drill sharpener? I bought one from a boot sale and I've figured out the basics of how it works but it's obviously capable of a lot more. Thanks!
Hello,
I am trying to connect up a 2nd hand 3 phase compressor. I have a 32a 5 pin 3 phase outlet in the workshop protected by a 32a MCB, and I have bought a new corresponding red plug for the compressor. The compressor was previously hard wired in it's last place so just has a wire with no...
Good work :D that truck's had some abuse by the looks of it... loving the rip in the aluminum tailgate! can't believe it's that rotten at 06. hows the chassis looking?
Wow that was quick thanks Brightspark! Useful to know. The guy I got it off has a big old workshop with 3phase and ancient cartridge fuses, not an mcb in sight, probably that's why it worked off a 13amp socket in there.
Was looking to get a 20amp type c and a socket in the garage anyway so...
Hello,
I was given one of these oil cooled arc welders, guy said it worked but hasn't been used for probably 10 years...!
It's got a piece of 2.5mm2 twin and earth going to a 13amp plug which is correctly connected to the 0 and 240v terminals. Anyway, plugged it in with none of the...
