ease off the pressure and speed up the drill just before u brake through to the other side
couldnt agree more. It's all about experience, The sound and feel changes as you are about to bteak through, Ease off on the pressure and hold the drill firmly to stop it being dragged through and biting in the hole,
thanks for the comments, I have enough experience to feel when its close to breaking through, I do know, I sometimes put it in reverse for the last part and that solves the problem, but its a pain and slows you down, if I go forwards, but slow and gentle, or fast and gentle, it still grabs on 10/12mm bits. I usually go up in stages, 4,8,10 etc, but even going from 10 to 11mm there is a snatch (often worse), I have a very large, heavy old school 600rpm drill designed for metal, but I simply cant use it due to this catch
I've never managed to snap a drill over about 3mm, are you keeping them sharp?
just live with-it its gonna snatch no matter what u do just try and keep it strait and hold on and let trigger goThis thread gets more stupid the longer it goes on lol
