Brilliant torches, I've got one myself but I've got a hole blown in the Swan neck and can't find any replacements. We used Tregaskiss air cooled guns that could handle 500A

I haven't tried them, will take a look.Have you tried Ian at Ian Hamilton engineering for spares?, he used to supply all ours.
Good morning Andystobbs.
I have run MB36 torches on 350a pluse machines and had a excessive heating issue, with resulting feed problems. So after much looking went to the abicor 455T 4 meter gun. Now this gun takes 8mm tips, however has adaptors for the 10mm tips. The screw on gas nozzel is a plus and have been using this gun for puls alli welding without dramas. I have also got the silver coated tips for steel and S/S which are to stop tip/wire sticking, not used then in anger yet and yes they are costly. They are reported to last 6 times longer that the standard tips.
Just curious how you’re getting on with the abicor 455t? The duty cycles for these torch’s on the websites are not really a good guide, I’ve been using a mb25 torch at 180 amp and I’m getting heating issues with the tip. The slip on shrouds are abit crap as well…Good morning Andystobbs.

Well in short I am not using it at all. Just using the water cooled MB36 torch. It didn't matter what tips I put into the 455t, when it got hot I had feed issues. My invertor mig with the watre cooled gun is a Essetti query 350 and it can go to 380amps. So I run it at that (33.3v)on 1.2mm solid wire doing thicker stuff. I would do 750mm of contineous weld on a rotator and on the second piece would start to have trouble with the 455t. With the MB36 water cooled torch, I can do as many as I have (have done 10 in a row) no feed issues. Funny thing the Essetti also has never stopped on thermal, and I have tried to get it to overheat. So in short not much beats a water cooled torch. I also run a water cooled MB 36 on my Fronius TPS2700 on .8mm solid wire. Please don't get me wrong the torches get hot to touch (the necks) but the feed issues are greatly reduced.Just curious how you’re getting on with the abicor 455t? I would go to a air cooled MB36 to start with, with the 8mm H/D tips. If that still causes some trouble get a water cooled torch. It is the time at temperature (heat soak)that causes the feed issues. I when I need to weld, I need to weld and want to get it done ASAP. I also have a water cooled torch for my Fronius TPS320i. Now that has been a great investment. I have put through 5.5 rolls of wire on the same tip, no feed issues. With that in mind tips are not a expensive item due to their longevity.
I'm sure they do, **Language** holding an air cooled 600A torch, i'm sure it's very light and manoeuvrable...Tregaskiss do air cooled torches up to 600Amp
