Loctite 480.Sure you can bond it if you can find the right glue. If It was my job I would send a query to sikaflex, or I would find a tube of that stuff they use to bond in the huge windows in department stores. I've had to remove those and that stuff is mighty powerful.
Loctite 480.
if it was a runner id just weld a short cup head bolt to them but thats my idea alright, something to grip to.It would probably work if a bolt was used through the plate and into the rubber so far as to give it something to grip instead of relying on a flat surface and adhesion.
unless im badly mistaken bonding rubber to metal in conditions like that are borderline but maybe i need to get out more.
Awesome! Just had a reply from a plastics supplier to my request for info on their extensive list of plastics primers. "Have you tried Halfords?"
i think i was the one who originally suggested to weld on cup head bolts for extra support as id consider it a good plan as long as it wouldn't effect the stiffness of the mount itself.Skimming through the thread, the OP is wanting to bond the rubber to a metal plate, so how would adding a stub/bolt for some extra grip be any worse?
is that actually what they sent you back,Awesome! Just had a reply from a plastics supplier to my request for info on their extensive list of plastics primers. "Have you tried Halfords?"
