Well normally I don't think much about the work I do and certainly don't photograph it, but there's been a couple of bucket repair threads lately so here's mine. The work isn't high quality as I get into trouble for being too slow, but it'll do.
To begin with. He certainly hasn't sent this in too soon:
So, to begin stripping- fortunately I have oxy acet, for those who don't know this is a gouging nozzle for removing welds:
I really hate this part, you get molten slag blasted everywhere and a small slip takes a chunk of metal from the wrong piece.
There were plates on the outer edges too, but I can't show everything.
I began the main cut for the edge, I tried using a grinder instead of oxy as most of the metal is thin and I thought it wouldn't be too slow and would reduce clean up time. It wasn't fun, I hate grinding!
