Only ever used that filler under a Tig arc. Which welded very nice tbh.
It didn't start nicely but job was done

I find it's always worth keeping a few lengths in stock. It's one of those fillers (in Tig wire anyhow) that I've not noticed any difference in quality from supplier to supplier. I have about 25mtrs of it. Rarely comes out but when you need it nothing else will do. Ni55. (55%Ni balance Fe)

Bow down to your tig master bulls##t that he try's to get across drives me up the wall.
Nothing wrong with tigman mate.
Mines boring I might go with something like richtea. I like biscuits and I like tea.
Lincoln electric gear he uses doesn't he?Amusing that "Mr Tig" promotes particularly nasty looking Chinese Tig sets on his YT channel................
He is on Weld.com and they sell Mr TIG Approved products not Lincoln. He used to work for Lincoln. When we had the American Car Racing (not Indy Car the other one) in Rockingham, Corby we had to attend (Lincoln were sponsors) and set up a welding area for repairs. He came over to help us.Lincoln electric gear he uses doesn't he?
Never heard of any of themI see. Last couple I saw he was using lincoln tig sets. What does he use nowadays?
Bet you loved it really. Mr migALlyNever heard of any of them
It looks like he has left Lincoln but someone said earlier that he was still involved........Im not sure
One upon a time they started calling me Mr Mig........I soon stopped that
Yes OA is possible and you probably mean a cast iron rod (they were cast). Im not sure but I doubt if they are still available but you could use mild steel or nickel base. With OA you need to get it hot (very hot over 500 oC) and then slow cool afterwardsI seem to remember in the dim and distant, welding cast with oxy acetylene? As luck would have it, I've just been asked to weld a chunk but can't remember the critical bit like what rod to use. I'm sure the rod looked like it had been cast too, can anyone else remember that far back or am I dreaming?
You're not dreaming, I had an exhaust manifold welded by a guy (Old school) he used OA and cast iron sticks and flux. Never seen it done with OA before and he made a good job of it.I seem to remember in the dim and distant, welding cast with oxy acetylene?
