Hi all, this is my first post so thank you in advance for the help. I am new to welding and have recently moved my Cigweld 150 over from gasless to gas. In doing so i followed the manual, reversed the polarity (Positive to gun, negative to ground) and installed the new wire (BOC mild steel MIG wire bronze).
With the gas on i turned the welder on and pressed the trigger on the gun to start feeding the wire through. As soon as the trigger was pressed the wire arced and blew out. It seemed to happen when the wire touched the outer wire guide (Gun hole) just after the feeder wheels.
I have no idea why! I have checked and double checked but can not for the life of me work out why that would happen. Please can someone help and give me an idea what the issue might be?
Thanks!
