Hello,
I have drilled an 8.5mm hole in 12mm thick stainless steel and I want to tap an M10 thread in it.
I have a set of hand taper taps but it will not cut the stainless, it goes in about 1/4 of the way and then gets stuck and it feels like the tap is going to break.
I understand I will probably need a special kind of tap for stainless, can anyone recommend what to use? I know there are different types of taps such a spiral point, spiral flute etc. I start the tap straight in a pillar drill so that wont be an issue
