I need to replace all four wheel arches on my old transit - the rest of the van *appears* solid
Never done any vehicle welding before - not sure whether I should mig it, or TIG?
However, main question - how do I know how much to replace?
the wheel arches are only *apparently* tatty up to about an inch from the arch - should I just flapwheel the paint off until I expose clean metal, then cut out the rust?
The problem with this is I need to get the van done in one weekend, so can't be waiting a week for panels to arrive, but I don't want to order full panels+ inner and outer arches if I don't need them. (tight a***ed yorkshireman)
Do I trim the replacement panels to fit the hole? Or cut the van until the panel fits (I'm gussing the former?)
It's gonna be (at least) the end of this month, possibly end of may, but will post pics as and when I get round to it.
