I need to improve the security of my domestic up and over garage door.
I was thinking of adding deadbolt locks near the corners, and strengthening the skin either with additional metal bracing or lining with plywood.
Just wondering whether lining with plywood would make door too heavy and how it would effect the spring tensioner. The tensioner can be adjusted, but I guess it isn't designed to take a plywood lining. What thickness?
I don't want anything on the outside that would attract attention, and realise these security improvements will not stop a professional, but they may deter the opportunist.
Suggestions???
