twice veteran of the S2N rally, i bought this in Naples 18 months ago for the princely sum of £100 and drove it back.
currently 'resting' at the end of the drive awaiting some welding...
i chickened out of stripping it any further until i had a pile of new panels here to weld into it. that big lump you can see at the bottom of the A pilar is a sponge covered in filler and underseal
this project will get moving as soon as the weather improves. i don't like welding in the rain!
as far as i know, the list of welding repairs needed is:
pair of sills (one is knackered, the other has already been repaired, but doesn't look pretty so it'll get a pair of new ones)
pair of front inner wings
pair of front outer wings
scuttle panel
front valance
rear valance
rear wing rear lower corners (both sides)
rear suspension mounts on chassis rails (both sides)
bulkhead behind pedal box
then it'll get a full respray, retrim the interior, clean up the engine and get the stripes put back on.
sounds easy, doesn't it!
