I was a mobile mechanic/welder for years.
Yeah ok it's pretty crap welding up rusty old cars outdoors when the weather's rubbish, but then again welding up rusty old cars is pretty crap wherever you do it! Just the name of the game really.
I made a pretty good living at it to be honest, but it was a pain when the rain came in the middle of a big job. Overall though, it was ok, so I say go for it. Get yourself a big fat extension lead and a decent sized van to shelter in and away you go!
If I were a few years younger, I think I'd do it again!
