Reminds me of my brothers vw van (which is still in bits) - the seat belt mounts in that one were rotted away, smoothed over with filler, and a bit of spray paint! I think that chassis looks pretty scary also.
A galvanised chassis would save you a whole load of work. At £1150 it would give you a nicer build / better resale price too (when that time eventually comes).
ps. wondering if the last MOT was a postal one...
Why are Defenders never finished, always something you want to fit or changeI have to laugh at the one life live it stickers on Landys. One life............under it, more like.
Richards chassis for you I think. Let the spending start........and never stop.
Its going to be tough doing it outdoors , you wont get much done when its raining or snowing .
You really need somewhere with lots of space . one area for old defender , one for new chassis and one for removed parts , not always easy or cheap to findyeah i know trying to find somewhere i can store a galv chassis to make it into a rolling one
