I have been welding for a couple of years now and enjoying the process of slowly learning a new skill.
I bought a clarke 150 to get me started and it's done me fine but I find that I would sometimes like a bit more control on the voltage than the simple switches provide. The kind of projects I have been doing are motorcycle orientated the voltage seems ok for this kind of stuff.
So basically I would like a more professional welder that has more finesse in controls but not necessarily any more voltage. If anything the ability to weld thinner would be more handy so maybe ability to go lower voltage is important?
Currently I'm looking second hand and thinking of these models:
Supermig 195
Siegen 180a
Lincoln sp170-I
What's best for my projects? Are any better for spare parts.
Sorry for probably boring questions - I'm still on a massive learning curve to be sure.
