i have been asked to make a small set of steps with hand rails on one side to match an existing platform and railings.
the job itself isn't too tricky, the railings are just twisted square bar uprights with a slightly curved hand rail which i have worked out can be cut from some 50mm tube. The steps design is basic, plate for the sides and plate with bent over edges for the steps, box section bracing and the designs has been checked by someone who worked for building control and deemed suitable.
specified process is mma with no specified rod as yet.
i am confident that i can get good penetration and can weld in all the positions required.
di i need to have any specific qualifications/certs or do i just need to prove competence through test welds
