Right. Nice little weekend job. 1920's Austin 7 racer manifold to make, just the cans, so that a modern manifold can be slid inside. I can make the front 'Bullet' from folded sheet and a formed nosecone and the aft box looks like 2 domes and an infill of folded sheet. The odd bit is the joint between them. It scales out at 2.5 inches OD on the threaded bit at the rear of the 'Bullet'. Any ideas what sort of 1920's thread would have been used and how would it have been employed? Railway fitting? Steam pipe? I've a feeling that Demow Twerks sell a 2.5 inch threaded brass sleeve for Monza filler caps but then I'd still need something for the female section and some fancy means of clamping the whole lot together.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
